“I wanted to take just a second to briefly thank publicly the chairman of the subcommittee and the ranking member, the vice chairman of the committee, for doing extraordinary work on behalf of our Nation on the subject of terrorism and homeland security. This really was the first body in Congress that dealt with this subject after the tragedies of 9-11. They have done an amazing job of gathering material, having the right kind of hearings, talking to the right type of people. We have a report that I guess is going through classification review or something at this point to make sure we can get as much as possible available to the public as we can do, but this has been hard work. It has been well managed, and it shows Congress doing something positive when there is a critical need for the people of the United States. So I want to return very much the compliment of the distinguished gentleman from Georgia (Mr. Chambliss), the gentlewoman from California (Ms. Harman), and thank them very much for the fine work. They do the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence proud.”
