“I want to congratulate him; and I want to congratulate the gentlewoman from Connecticut (Ms. DeLauro) for working in a bipartisan way to deal with what has actually provided some relief for some people who have need. I think this is Congress doing its thing. I think we are, in fact, rescuing the administration from some bad policy consequences that have taken place. I think it is good that the American people can look and see that here we are on a Saturday focusing on these kinds of problems and responding to them in a very, very positive way especially, I would also say, in a bipartisan way. I think that one of the things that has been addressed slightly here, and I have heard a little so far in the debate on this about the underlying problem, heating oil is not something we have just discovered and the need for it and the need for it on an affordable basis.”
