The president wants to take the 60-day period of time to sort of analyse what imposing both sanctions and tariffs will mean to the global economy and even to the US economy.

What we want to accomplish at this meeting this week will put our countries further down the path of long-term prosperity and security.

We want to see this region continue to thrive into the 21st century as a hub of commercial diplomacy, because it is in our interest – because it is our interest from both an economic standpoint and from a security standpoint as well.

We want to do more. This is not the end. This is the beginning.
