I thank the gentlewoman from California for her leadership on behalf of families all across the country. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to urge all of our colleagues to vote ``yes'' on H.R. 3370 that will fix this flood insurance debacle. A year and a half ago, a bill was passed here in the House to address the solvency of the flood insurance trust fund. That was the right thing to do. Unfortunately, it had serious unintended consequences that families and businessowners and Realtors all across this Nation have been dealing with. But I am heartened here today because, even though this Congress has an unfortunate reputation for not addressing the challenges that face families all across this country, we are going to come together here today to address a very important financial issue for families. I would like to thank my colleagues from Florida, Congressman Hastings, Congressman Bilirakis, Congressman Nugent, Congressman Buchanan, and all of our delegation for fighting, standing together to work for them. I urge all of our colleagues here today to do the same.
