“First of all I want to take just a moment to express my appreciation to the gentleman from Louisiana [Mr. Tauzin] for bringing this matter to the attention of the House. For too long the Agency, EPA, has really reigned out of control, and I come here tonight, I know the hour is late, before the House, but I want to commend you again on bringing this matter to the attention of both the House and the Congress, another example of misdeed, of malfeasance, of misfeasance in office, which has been conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency. I come here also to commend you in a bipartisan effort. I am on the other side of the aisle and thank you for your leadership in questions relating to wetlands, to revision of some of the laws such as the Clean Water legislation which the House will be taking up tomorrow, and again for bringing before the Congress and the American people the question of how this agency is functioning out of control.”
