“we have been here and we have done that. These folks on this side has 40 years to get the finances of this Nation in order. We are here tonight, we have presented a balanced budget. The first thing this side did when we took over was we cut $20 billion worth of spending over the last Democrat Congress' spending. Last year we cut $23 billion, and we have already heard the President taking credit for reductions. The only reason these reductions have taken place is because we have been here and we kept our word. We came here and we did what we said we were going to do, and tonight we are going to do it again. We are going to bring the finances of this Nation in order. They may have to do it kicking and screaming and using false statistics and accusations, but we are sobering up and tonight is part of that process.”
