The chancellor of the New York City School District, Mr. Hal Levy, has instituted a program he calls the New York Teaching Fellows; and he is succeeding in inspiring men and women to leave their jobs and go into teaching. We need to be a part of that solution by having financial aid programs that are tailored to help people pay their bills while they are making the transition into teaching.
