Mr. Speaker, I am delighted to wish a happy and healthy 85th birthday to Sister Jeanne O'Laughlin. For 23 years, Sister Jeanne served as the fifth president at Barry University, and made it the fourth-largest private university in my home State of Florida. It is because of Sister Jeanne's vision and enthusiasm in taking on such a challenging responsibility that Barry University has now expanded from 16 to 55 buildings on its campus, and increased its enrollment to more than 9,000 while maintaining its goal of academic excellence. Sister Jeanne has also been an active member of our community in civic and professional associations, and has been the recipient of several accolades related to her work. She became the first woman to be a member of both the Orange Bowl Committee and the Non-Group of Miami- Dade County. The south Florida community is truly blessed to have the benefit of Sister Jeanne's experience. Her tenacity is a beacon of hope to us all. Happy birthday, Sister Jeanne, and many more. ____________________
