“I am pleased to congratulate Footy and the rest of the team at one of south Florida's premier radio station, Y-100, on their annual fund-raising event to benefit young people with drug addictions. Proceeds from this year's event, Footy's All-American Wing-Ding, will also go to firefighter relief efforts for the September 11 tragedies. For the past 15 years, funds raised by the annual Wing-Ding go toward Here's Help, an organization headed by Steve Safron and John Kross, which provides drug abuse treatment programs. Footy's Wing-Ding extravaganza has enabled Here's Help to offer hope to those who suffer from drug addiction, and has assisted in building a residential drug treatment facility in south Florida. Through his perseverance and charisma, Footy has made the annual Wing-Ding a popular and successful event. Mr. Speaker, I am proud to be part of this worthwhile benefit, and I ask my colleagues to join me in congratulating Y-100 and the participants of Footy's All-American Wing-Ding for their assistance to our youth and our country's relief efforts.”
