When we transferred responsibility for the security of Ashraf to the Iraqi Government, we sought and we were provided with Iraqi assurances that the residents would, in fact, be treated humanely and would be safe from any actions against their lives and well-being. However, Madam Speaker, repeated conduct by the Iraqi security forces has called these guarantees into question. Camp Ashraf residents are in jeopardy.
