The text of the amendment is as follows: Page 7, after line 5, insert the following: (9) Article 8 of the Paris Agreement states that ``Parties recognize the importance of averting, minimizing and addressing loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change, including extreme weather events and slow onset events'', such as sea level rise, saltwater intrusion, and flooding.
