“I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: In title IX, add at the end the following: SEC. 904. GAO STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF CREDIT SCORES IMPACTED BY A STUDENT BORROWER'S DEFAULTED OR DELINQUENT PRIVATE EDUCATION LOAN. (a) Study.--The Comptroller General of the United States shall carry out a study on how credit scores impacted by a student borrower's defaulted or delinquent private education loan impacts applying for future loans, including information on the treatment of different demographic populations. (b) Report.--The Comptroller General shall issue a report to the Congress containing all findings and determinations made in carrying out the study required under subsection (a). The Acting CHAIR. Pursuant to House Resolution 811, the gentlewoman from Florida (Ms. Shalala) and a Member opposed each will control 5 minutes. The Chair recognizes the gentlewoman from Florida.”
