My community is not going to be an afterthought. We are not going to be flood control for U.S. sugar or anybody else.

To all my colleagues in the committee, it has been the greatest honor to serve with all of you, even in the most contentious times, and I truly will carry these experiences with me.

The status quo has to change.

That is probably one of the stupidest things that I have heard since being in Washington, DC.
