I went home to my district in August, like most of us did, and, hopefully like most of us, I very much enjoyed going back home. I not only enjoyed going back home to enjoy the beautiful beaches and weather of the space coast area of Florida, as well as the environment there, but I also very much enjoyed going back so I called hear from my constituents as to what I need to be doing up here in Washington. Indeed, I frequently find that I get some very, very good advice and very good input when I go back home, and this time was no exception. I went up to Kennedy Space Center to speak to the employees up there who have concerns about what is going to be happening in the future with NASA and what are the job prospects there. But I had a very, very pleasant surprise when I was up there at Kennedy. I was at the Orbital Processing Facility, the place where they take those shuttles and get them ready for the next flight. There are a lot of union employees there at the OFF, and I got some questions about the NASA budget and what is going to be happening in the future. But I also got a lot of questions from those union guys about Economically Targeted Investments, how they did not want their union pension funds being exploited for political purposes by the Clinton administration.
