I would strongly urge the Committee to maintain the focus on the purpose of my legislation to ensure that the spirit and letter of U.S. immigration law is enforced.

When I mentioned earlier that my worst nightmare would be a nuclear Iran and a Venezuela willing to accept deployment of those weapons in Venezuelan territory, for example, it is within the realm of possibility.

I could not disagree more, which is why I recently introduced H.R. 3783, the Countering Iran in the Western Hemisphere Act.

It is wholly justified, and hopefully more people throughout the United States and throughout the world will be listening.
