I so appreciate how you`re framing this identity crisis within today`s Republican Party because conventional wisdom seems to default to this identity crisis must be an ideological one, right? Conservatives versus moderates are different degrees of conservatism. That`s not today`s identity crisis in the Republican Party. It is as Mitt Romney suggested the defense of democratic values or not, the defense of our democratic institutions or not, the recognition of valid elections or not. Those are now the litmus tests.
