Before we begin, I want to mention the recent tragedy in the Port of Baltimore. First and foremost, our thoughts are with the victims and their families.
I have major concerns about the funding needed to keep up with the backlog in infrastructure, the investments in new assets such as cutters and helicopters and everyday support services to the fleet.
This reminds of us the vital importance of the Coast Guard in protecting our nation's waterways.
