It is really difficult to comprehend how much a trillion dollars is. And the distinguished Senator has pointed to the trade deficit that our country has been running. And he said that up until the early part of the 1980's our country was a creditor Nation, the foremost creditor Nation on Earth. And that during the 1980's it became a debtor Nation, to the tune of $1 trillion.
