“competition is the backbone of innovation. Competition has enabled the Internet and scores of new technologies to be introduced to the marketplace, and it has changed the way we live, work and play. Mr. Chairman, the COPE Act will ensure that competition and innovation continue to flourish. It will eliminate needless government barriers and has shown that the expansion of new technology and innovation comes when competition is alive and well. Mr. Chairman, I urge my colleagues to vote in support of this piece of legislation. It will help drive prices down.
