“The Kissimmee River restoration project is at a critical phase. With the current funding levels in the 1999 Energy and Water appropriations bill, this project will not move forward. We both understand the difficult nature of funding decisions in these times of tight budgets, but we also recognize the responsibility of the federal government to meet its costshare requirements with the state of Florida and fund the construction phase of this project.”
