The first backfilling contract is scheduled to be awarded on March 30, 1999. For this contract to be awarded, the Corps has indicated that between $22 and $23 million must be appropriated for this project. Today we are reviewing an Energy and Water appropriations bill that includes only $8 million for the Kissimmee River project.
