I label myself as a Democrat, as a former single mom, as someone who was determined to help improve the quality of life for all Floridians and all Americans in this country.
I’m a Black woman who is a descendant of slaves, and who is the descendant of people from the civil rights movement, and I know how we used boycotts and we used protest to gain our civil rights for our community.
What this is about is what I am fighting for, which is to ensure that people have access to quality healthcare, people have affordable housing, there's things like universal childcare so people, parents can get to work.
It’s not about progressive vs. moderate vs. conservative, or Democrat vs. Republican, or DSA member vs. Working Families Party member.
