It is not cheap. It costs us billions of dollars to build a new nuclear power plant. But they are pretty good in terms of how much carbon dioxide they put out.
the solar energy emitted by the Sun in 1 hour is enough to provide the power that we use on this earth for 1 year.
We have the technology today to build a new coal plant that has minimal emissions of all of the conventional pollutants.
But we must not forget the existing Clean Air Act where there is a lot of work to be done on the conventional pollutants.
We do not have to throw up our hands and say, gee, we have to choose between having a quality of life that protects our kids, that protects our forests, or giving up coal.
It is good to get out of sometimes the mentality of nuclear security as the nuclear security people look at that.
