Creating a healthier environment by controlling air toxins from mobile and stationary sources will benefit not only those most at risk, but indeed, all of us who depend on breathing clean air for optimal health.
As Senator Carper mentioned, children are outside for longer periods and are more active, especially in the summer when ozone levels are highest.
Improving children's health doesn't appear to be sufficient motivation for some of the other side of the aisle.
I think it is an area that we need to invest some funding in for research to find out how much the danger is and which mix is really the worst and what we can do about it.

So I believe that our job in the Senate is to make sure things don't get worse and make sure that we create an economic environment where things actually can get better.
