D.C.'s local courts have faced chronic judicial vacancies for far too long, delaying justice for residents and placing an unnecessary strain on the administration of our local court system.

Throughout my career in Congress I’ve passionately defended home rule and DC’s right to govern itself.

This process is key to our democracy. It provides avenues for every citizen, lawmaker, and stakeholder to provide input into the rulemaking process.

I will use every tool at my disposal to stop these riders from becoming law, and I commit to reminding my fellow lawmakers across the aisle that D.C. residents deserve the same consideration as their own constituents at every opportunity.
