The speaker before the last speaker wanted to know what the offense was. The offense is to the home-rule prerogative to the people of the District of Columbia to decide on educational choices for their own children. That's what the offense is. I have written to the Postal Service many times in recent years about issues in the District of Columbia, including mail being stolen, burned, or otherwise destroyed, lost, or not delivered.
I would like to thank subcommittee Chair Rick Crawford for holding this hearing on transportation regulations.
I believe this bill strikes the middle ground, while showing Congress' support for LGBTQ+ individuals.
I will use every tool at my disposal to stop these riders from becoming law, and I commit to reminding my fellow lawmakers across the aisle that D.C. residents deserve the same consideration as their own constituents at every opportunity.
