I can't go into the details of our conversations today except to say that our Egyptian counterparts were in communication with Hamas as early, as recently as a few hours ago.

Today, Secretary Blinken said that, now, they mostly want to see is 'people being able to return their homes.'

The response we got was unfortunately not the yes that we were looking for. A yes that virtually the entire world has given.

The bottom line is this: We want Ukraine to win.
