Antony Blinken: “I think she is known to many Members of this Committee, and hopefully she will be confirmed quickly once she is sent…”

I can't go into the details of our conversations today except to say that our Egyptian counterparts were in communication with Hamas as early, as recently as a few hours ago.

Today, Secretary Blinken said that, now, they mostly want to see is 'people being able to return their homes.'

We assess that Hamas has recruited almost as many new militants as it has lost. That is a recipe for an enduring insurgency and perpetual war.

We have offered them nothing not to invade Rafah except a plan to deal more effectively with Rafah.
