As Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee, I am fighting to keep this funding stream secure so that Planned Parenthood and other women’s health groups can continue providing health care services to our communities.

This is a vital check on executive power that is long overdue.

I am deeply fearful that, at a time when appropriators must come together to defend our power of the purse, the path the majority has chosen will only survive to degrade the efficacy and credibility of what we are doing in this room.
