On the recordFebruary 12, 2013
I want to again thank the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Patrick Leahy, for his leadership on this bill and on the issue of human trafficking. He has led this Chamber. I want to thank my colleague, Senator Portman, for truly a commonsense amendment that aims to combat one of the great scourges in the United States and around the world, sex trafficking involving young people. We can take a strong step and send a strong message by providing the kinds of services to young victims as we do to other victims who receive aid under VAWA. I urge my colleagues to support this amendment. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator's time has expired.
