today the International Atomic Energy Agency has issued its latest report on the nuclear weapons development program of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This latest IAEA report is the clearest warning about a potentially catastrophic threat to the United States since the Hart-Rudman Commission in January of 2001 predicted a major terrorist attack on our homeland, which, of course, occurred about 9 months later. The IAEA's message today is similarly stark. The extremist terrorist regime that rules Iran is actively working to possess nuclear weapons, and the time to stop them is running out. The Obama administration deserves credit for rallying the international community to put unprecedented diplomatic and economic pressure on the Iranian regime. But the sad fact is nothing the United States and our international partners have done has changed Iran's egregious, threatening, and in many cases murderous behavior, its pursuit of nuclear weapons, its sponsorship of terrorism, its infiltration of neighboring countries, its responsibility for training and equipping terrorists and extremists who have killed literally hundreds of American citizens in Iraq and throughout the Middle East or its repression of its own people. On the contrary, in all of these areas, notwithstanding the increasing international diplomatic and economic pressure on the regime in Iran, that regime's behavior has only grown more emboldened and more reckless.…
