But farming is a critical part of the Connecticut economy and our traditions. In fact, the Connecticut Department of Agriculture estimates that Connecticut receives a $900 million income from agriculture production, and adds about $2.1 billion to the state's economy. There are approximately 4,000 farms holding approximately 370,000 acres of land in Connecticut.”
