And so while we have universal agreement that this is the most important issue confronting our senior population, to date we have not seen anything come to the floor. What an outrage. What a shame. A great Republican President once said, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but the American public will not be fooled by sleight of hand, will not be fooled by sham proposals. They want a straightforward, direct answer. We should have open debate on this floor about an issue that everyone universally agrees with should be debated.”
