As we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day, we stand together to remember those who lost their lives to addiction and recommit to investing in prevention and treatment services.

Today I rise to honor the lives of 1.5 million Armenians who perished during the brutal genocide that took place on April 24, 1915.

My bill, the History of the House Awareness and Preservation Act, would authorize the Library of Congress to commission eminent historians to assemble a written history of the House.

This isn’t China. This isn’t Russia. This is West Hartford, Conn., in the United States of America.
