“as a cosponsor of the PROTECT Our Children Act, I am grateful we are considering this legislation today. This legislation will create a Special Counsel within the Department of Justice, DoJ, to design and organize the Departments child exploitation prosecution work. The bill will also establish grants to increase the number of Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, agents dedicated to protecting children and ensure local authorities have funding available to create vigorous cyber units with well-trained officers. Having a child exploited is a parent's worst fear. This legislation will, strengthen our police force to ensure we can track down and imprison child sex predators. Mr. Speaker, I urge passage of this legislation.”
