We cannot spend money effectively in Gaza if we do not have a governance structure that keeps Israel safe and understands political realities on the ground in Gaza.

We are going to convene the subcommittee today to discuss the fiscal year 2025 budget request for the Middle East and North Africa.

I will make it clear, as chairman of this committee I am willing to sit down with any member to try to find that common path.

If President Trump does win, I would encourage Europe at this time to adopt a more constructive approach.
