“I thank him for his work going back to 20-some-odd months ago when we were involved in the critical weeks and days in September and October. Judd Gregg was invaluable putting together a moment here while, not terribly popular, I think saved the economy and the country. I will not address all his concerns here. We have a different point of view on the issues he raised. They are not illegitimate issues. We think we addressed them properly. He has a different view, and I respect that. I appreciate his work and that of his staff on this bill. He made a significant contribution to this effort and I thank him for it.”
