So, Mr. President, for the reasons I have stated, I will oppose this nomination. I say this with regret because it will only be the fourth occasion in 25 years I will have voted against a nominee for the Supreme Court. I will do so tomorrow at 11 a.m. I deeply regret that I didn't have the opportunity to engage in a fuller discussion. It is somewhat disturbing, that I was only allocated 20 minutes. Because of the constraints on time, this is all this Senator can say about a lifetime appointment to a coequal branch of Government, a nominee that will have a huge impact on the course of America in the 21st century.
