Students, parents, school principals, teachers, superintendents, and boards of education all have to be more accountable and more responsible if we are going to improve the quality of public education in our country. There is no doubt in my mind that, while there has been improvement in recent years in classrooms, there is room for more improvement. We need to raise the next generation of young people to be prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century and be competitive in a global economy.
