I thank Senator Leahy for being such an amazing champion and the author of many of the underlying protections that we are talking about expanding and making more effective today. He is an absolute giant on the issue of protecting Americans from gun violence. We don't have to dig deep to understand why this body has an approval rating that rivals venereal disease. They think we spend all of our time fighting, and they see big problems in this Nation, and this Congress is doing nothing to even attempt to solve it. This is a paramount example.
