“I want to add to those issues that we have laid out some other things that are not specifically identified in the resolution, but I think are important for us to consider. We must recognize that much of what we know today about Iran and certainly what we know about its nuclear production capabilities, and not just capabilities, but what they have already done, comes to us not as a result of information identified by the international inspection regime. It comes to us as a result of the fact that Iranian dissidents have, at great risk, made this information available to the West. On more than one occasion, these Iranian dissidents have provided us with information that we now know to be accurate. It has become invaluable in many ways, and they should be credited for what they have done. It is also important to note that many of these people who have taken refuge in Iraq are under the control and the protection right now of American forces over there.”
