What we are doing in the name of the children, we are also doing it to the children. You have a financial deficit, and to deal with that, we are going to create a human deficit. We are into this very mean thing where the adults are saying, ``We are not going to give up anything we have, thank you very much, take it out on the children.'' Hey, where is that fair? These kids did not create that deficit. There is no one in this country, I think, that feels we can compete in the 21st century without more education and without kids that are healthy and well fed. We know if they are healthy and well fed they do better in school. We can go on and on and on. Yet, what are we doing? They are the first out of the budget, the first out of the budget. Again, that is why we are wearing ``Save the Children'' scarves.
