“I am so glad to see the gentleman's chart, because I think every one of us who have been trying to discuss this issue gets so frustrated by the misinformation and the disinformation floating around, and it reminds me of last week when we were all trying to deal with the product liability bill and people kept talking about the Girl Scouts, the Girl Scouts, how the Girl Scouts wanted this, and if you remember, the Girl Scouts were in the Wall Street Journal day after day saying, no, no, no, no, no; that is all being made up. We need like a truth squad on this floor. So I am glad that the gentleman from California is being a truth squad and pointing it out. That is not to say there are not some people who abuse it, but it is a very, very small percentage. It is not like a huge largess spraying out there. Most people are embarrassed to be on welfare, cannot wait to get off welfare, and want to do everything they can to improve themselves.”
