These are, in my view, the fundamental issues that we face: Can Colorado be a place where middle-class families can live, where working people can live, where teachers and others can find a home?

This new facility will not only nearly double the number of detention beds, but is in a rural location, far from the organizations that offer resources and oversight.

I think it’s a tragedy that companies are leaving Colorado, and it’s one of the reasons why I’m running for governor.

We agree on what our goals must be, and we all know that the future of Colorado depends on what we build from this time forward.
