Madam President, today I wish to speak on behalf of my colleagues and a grateful Nation as we welcome to the Nation's capital the 122 men and women of Honor Flight Northern Colorado. Together, they represent soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. These heroes embody the dedication, honor, and selfless service that make this country great. We owe them and all servicemembers a debt that can never be repaid. Throughout the history of our great Republic, our men and women in uniform have shielded this country from the harm that others wish to inflict on it. We have always asked a great deal from these individuals; that they leave their families to fight in an unknown land against a deadly enemy. They have always bravely answered the call, placing themselves between this country and harm's way. On this flight are World War II veterans from every branch of service.
