When government owns part or all of private companies, government is no longer just setting the rules—it becomes a player in the game and sets the rules to its own advantage and against the people.

This opens the door to some perfectly acceptable consumer discount, if not appropriately captured by the definitions in this bill, being subject to scrutiny and enforcement under the Consumer Protection Act.

I am glad to see that through collaboration, state leaders and Restore our Roads were able to come to an agreement that removes Initiative 175 from the ballot and builds on our administration’s historic investments in our roads, highways…

It makes logical sense to specifically address unethical price gouging that targets a consumer with an unfair, significantly higher price.
