I read last week... that for the first time in the country's history, a majority of our public school children in this country are poor enough that they qualify for free and reduced lunch.
The Senator is correct that there are more moving parts to a competency education system than I gave in my testimony.

Farmers and ranchers in Colorado, rightly believe that they had a huge hand in writing these provisions to begin with, because they did.
A lot of what we were trying to do with this legislation, at least in my mind, was have a Western perspective actually inform the farm bill when it came to conservation.
