Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis' 2018 [Nuclear] Posture Review offers continuity with past U.S. policy and plans, including those in the 2010 NPR. It deserves broad bipartisan support. Its proposal for a low-yield SLBM weapon and a new nuclear tipped sea-launched cruise missile are sensible responses to changed security conditions, especially Russia and North Korea.
