I have been on this subcommittee for 15 years. I don't believe that I have ever seen a Secretary, a Cabinet Secretary, of either party in any of the three administrations I have served under patiently give us so much time.

If you’re going to be doing quality health care legislation, you should be able to do it in a bipartisan way.
All of these radicals who are coming to the House, thinking they’re going to be able to pass a very broad bill like Medicare-for-All right away, they’re going to run into a brick wall immediately.
If I could pass Medicare-for-All unilaterally in the minority, I would do it, because I’m an original co-sponsor of that bill. But the frustration people are feeling is with the whole system.
