I believe a women's history museum, like what we are voting on today, could help the Smithsonian accomplish that critical goal.

On behalf of the American people, Congress, the Board of Regents, and Smithsonian management have a responsibility to ensure the continued success of the institution for future generations.

I think that is important, because what we are trying to do is, at the same time, sort of build resiliency in the population so people begin to ask those questions: Who is supporting this? How are they doing it? Where is the money coming from? Et cetera.

we actually want to get in their way, in this instance.

PSLF is a popular bipartisan program that is critical for ensuring communities everywhere in the United States have access to education, healthcare, and other fundamental services.

We are here to look for answers on how we can better support the thousands of public servants who support all of us every day.

I encourage my colleagues in Congress from both sides of the aisle to come together today and offer positive solutions.

So, our goal here today is to collectively make it easier for the public servants of this country to take advantage of a promise made to them back in 2007.

the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program has been an important recruitment and retention tool for the military to compete with the civilian sector.
